Dog With A Heartbreaking Note Attached To Its Collar Jumps Into Police Car

“Please help. Take me to a shelter. My name is Lola.” is the heartbreaking note attached to a dog who jumped into a Wisconsin police officer’s car to be saved.

Platteville Police Department (PPD) said they responded to a report of a loose dog at Moundview Park on August 25, Friday. This sweet girl came right over to the officer and jumped in the squad,” PPD wrote on a Facebook post.

Lola was temporarily taken in by the officers as they investigate what happened to her and why she was abandoned.

Furthermore, the police department is asking for the public’s assistance in finding Lola’s original ‘owners’. The PPD said, We would like to speak with them.”

There is a municipal ordinance saying it is illegal to abandon animals in Platteville.

The post drew in attention from animal lovers online. While many were speculating on the circumstances that lead to the sweet pooch’s abandonment, many were relieved that Lola was rescued by the police department.

One user wrote, “It’s very sad, but thank you to the Platteville police for taking care of Lola and for investigating this. There are so many places in the country where no one would have responded to this call and Lola would’ve been left on the streets, even if seen by law enforcement.”

And other users wrote comments such as, “I hope she’s adopted into a great home. She looks very sweet.” and “What a sweet face! Who would do this to a dog?”.

Furthermore, many users have offered to adopt her and giver her a loving, forever home. So, the PPD posted an earlier update saying that Lola was available for adoption through the Platteville Vet Clinic.

And not long after, according to Platteville Police Department (PPD) and Platteville Veterinary Clinic, Lola has finally been adopted on September 1.
