South Korean Tattoo Artist Creates Adorable Portraits Of Pets
A lot of us have tattoos, and many of us have memorialized our pets in the form of tattoos. And it’s not just in the States that people get tattoos of their pets – people all over the world do as well, like South Korea for example. And while getting tattoos in South Korea isn’t illegal, the country’s laws do require that they are done by a medical doctor.
However, this doesn’t mean that plenty of tattoo shops have opened across the country since the law is rarely enforced. While the law was originally created as concern for public health regarding the spread of HIV amongst other illnesses, the government is looking towards a change.
This is, of course, excellent news for South Korean tattoo artists. There is one tattoo artist in particular who is gaining notoriety for their amazing artwork pieces.
The Seoul-based artist, Jiran, turns pictures of people’s pets into wonderful works of art. Jiran typically forgoes the highly-detailed portraits or designs in favor of something more fun and cartoonish creations.
Regardless, the works still resemble the pets in question, so much so that we want ones of our own! Thanks to a mix of collections from Bored Panda as well as Jiran’s Instagram, you can check out a few of the great pieces below:
